Why Do I Have To Download My Text Messages
Good morning everyone, and Happy Friday, LOL.
So, I am using a text message app called 'Messages' as the Verizon text message app wasn't working properly. This 'Messages' app was recommended by my IT people and I see a lot of BB Priv users have been using it. Anyway, from day one, it was working and doing what the Verizon text message app wasn't doing, so I was happy.
That said, here is my problem. From day one here's what's been happening: I get a text message from someone, and it contains a picture. If my 'cellular data' is on and I am connected, using gigabytes, etc. -- then the picture and text message shows up. No problem. It's automatic.
However, if my 'cellular data' is off, and I am only connected via wi-fi -- I open the text message and there is a small symbol with a message below it that says 'Tap to download'.
The only way I can get this message/picture is to turn on my cellular data?
Why is this? It's a real pain? Is there a setting where I can set the device to automatically download the message and the picture when I am connected to wi-fi? Or something like this? I am looking to the in-house experts because my IT people do not address text messages as it's not a normal business activity. Thank you very much in advance.
